Real Estate Agents are Advised to Ramp up AML Measures
The Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka organized an awareness program for the real estate sector on “Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) Compliance Obligations and New Developments” on June 26, 2023. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka/Chairman, National Coordinating Committee on AML/CFT, and Mr. W S Sathyananda, Secretary to the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing, Eng. R H Ruvinis, Chairman of the Construction Industry Development Authority (CIDA) and Mr. Hardy Jamaldeen representing the real estate sector also addressed the gathering, while Mr. Sarana Karunaratna, Chairman of the Condominium Management Authority (CMA) also graced the occasion.

ලෝක ජනාවාස දින සැමරුම් ජාතික මහෝත්සවය
සෑම වසරකම ඔක්තෝබර් මස පළමු සඳුදා ලෝක ජනාවාස දිනය ලෙසින් ප්‍රකාශයට පත් කළේ 1986 වසරේ සිටය. ඒ අනුව 2022.10.03 වන සඳු දින සමරනු ලැබුවේ 36 වැනි ලෝක ජනාවාස දිනයයි.
මෙවර ලෝක ජනාවාස දිනයේ තේමාව වූයේ “වෙනසක් නොකරමු – කිසිවෙක් කිසිතැනක අත්නොහරිමු” යන්නයි.

රාජ්‍ය සේවක ප්‍රතිඥාවේ සඳහන් ආකාරයටම නව වසරේ ඉලක්ක ජයගැනීමට සියලුම දෙනා කැපවී ක්‍රියාකළ යුතු බව නාගරික සංවර්ධන හා නිවාස අමාත්‍යංශයේ ලේකම් ඩබ්ලියු.එස් සත්‍යානන්ද මහතා පවසයි.
පසුගිය වසරේදී කටයුතු කළ ආකෘතියෙන් මිදී නව ආකෘතියකට රාජකාරී කරමින් නව වසරේ ඉලක්ක ජයගැනීමට කටයුතු කළ යුතු බවද ඔහු සඳහන් කරයි.
නව වසරේ රාජකාරී ආරම්භ කිරීම වෙනුවෙන් බත්තරමුල්ල, සුහුරුපායේ පිහිටි අමාත්‍යංශ ශ්‍රවණාගාරයේදී ජනවාරි මස 02 වන දිනදී පැවති උත්සවයට සහභාගී වෙමින් අමාත්‍යංශ ලේකම්වරයා මේ බව සඳහන් කළේය.

ජනාවාස සමඟ ක්‍රමයෙන් සාමාජීය අවශ්‍යතාවයන් පුළුල් වීම සහ නාගරීකකරණය කරා ගමන් කිරීමත් සමඟ පදිංචිය සඳහා සුදුසු පහසුකම් සහිත නිවසක බලාපොරොත්තුව සැමගේ මූලික ජීවන අවශ්‍යතාවයක් සේම අපේක්ෂාවද වී ඇත. නාගරීකරණය හේතු කොට ගෙන ඇති වූ නිවාස ඉල්ලුමට සරිලන භූමි ප්‍රමාණයක් එම තදාසන්න ප්‍රදේශවල නොවූ බැවින් සිරස් අතට පැතිරුණු නිවාස වෙනුවට තිරස් බහු මහල් නිවාස එම සාමාජීය අවශ්‍යතාවය සපුරාලීම සඳහා ඉදිවිණ.
